Do you know how much money I could spend on all this? Not because I need it, because I want it. I want it all. Even the 31 in. Superman statue in the front of the stand. #superman #IWantAllOfThis

ABERCROMBIE & FITCH Please Share! I’m sure we have all heard the statements from CEO, Mike Jeffries. I don’t want to make this post about hate. I am not angry that Abercrombie is exclusionary. Heck, isn’t every clothing line to some degree. I honestly don’t care if he only sold size 0. I am angry at what motivates him to only carry up to size 10. Cool, thin, and beautiful? It’s not even money really. I’m sure he knows he could more than double his profits by offering extended sizes. He is more worried about image and who is “good enough” to wear his clothing. You just can’t get upset about limited sizing. As a size 24, I have always been limited to where I can shop. So this isn’t some big shocker. I have not lost sleep over it, I promise. Yeah, it’s annoying but I honestly like having to be more creative with my style. So what if his line only goes up to size 10? Torrid is exclusionary. They ONLY carry plus and even they stop at size 26. The difference is that Torrid wanted to bring trendy fashion to us plus gals. Not because their CEO thinks that thinner women are “not real” or less beautiful. Mr. Jeffries can not tell me that I am not beautiful enough for his clothing. He could tell me that my personality and sense of style is far too eclectic to wear his cookie-cutter, “All-American clothes. Which I think is the case for a lot of fat and “uncool” people. We have been forced to use our personalities and learn to adapt. Uncool kids arent uncool, they are unique, creative, and different! So most of us wouldnt even desire to put on an Abercrombie shirt even if they were handing them out for free. We like doing our own thing because we contain too much awesome and magic to mask it with a worn out, white polo. I honestly feel sorry for him. In his eyes, everyone I know and love is either fat or uncool or the epic combination of both. I could never replace those people. He is missing out on knowing a lot of amazing people. He is losing sales because he didnt hire that charming, chubby girl with the engaging personality. He probably rolled his eyes to the guy that could have been his life-time best friend all because he reads Harry Potter! It makes me feel more blessed and more proud to be different. I don’t want to sit at the “exclusionary” table with all the “cool” kids. I don’t want to look like them or know what it feels like to button up a pair of Abercrombie jeans. I want Mr. Jeffries to see the world differently. I want him to see how beautiful curves are and how good it feels to nerd out over a TV show or a book. There is more to life than keeping it cool.
